Burns & McDonnell Portfolio Project Management Consulting Project Manager - 1898 & Co. (Multiple Locations) in Wallingford, Connecticut
1898 & Co., a part of Burns & McDonnell, seeks an energetic, accomplished hands-on Project Manager to lead successful technology consulting engagements with clients related to portfolio project management. This position will primarily lead the execution of our growing portfolio of work across our customer bases serving as the client’s primary point of contact, ensuring client satisfaction through high-quality delivery. This candidate will be responsible for managing engagement schedules, resources, subcontracts, and budgets to drive profitability and growth based on 1898 & Co. core values of client satisfaction, entrepreneurship, commitment, dedication, integrity, safety, and overall outstanding service.
Plan, organize, and direct management consulting engagements, including the overall negotiation, execution, cost, schedule, and quality of delivery that meets or exceeds client expectations.
Facilitate workshop sessions with client teams to understand client requirements, uncover needs and develop action plans.
Leverage strategic thinking to anticipate client problems and work project team consultants to provide innovative and impactful solutions.
Coordinate with clients as the first and primary point of contact for all project-related communications.
Coordinate with internal and external subject matter expert for the pursuit and delivery of technology consulting projects.
Establish project teams, coordinate activities amongst multiple disciplines, and ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of skilled resources.
Manage the delivery of third-party vendors and subcontractors, including contracts, scope, schedule, and budget.
Provide performance feedback to personnel managers for project team members as appropriate.
Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
Manage prime contract, subcontractor, and supplier invoicing process.
Provide managerial direction and work assignments to project team members.
Contribute to the authoring of thought leadership and case studies pertaining to engagements such as blogs, articles, white papers, and conference presentations.
Creates, manages, or supports the creation of project deliverables and documentation (project scope, project plans/schedules, project logs, status reports, issues management, change orders, estimates, architecture/design specifications, user guides, training plans, etc.).
Mentor high potentials for development in the project manager career path.
Manage and communicate project status, risks, forecasted completion, and costs with all stakeholders.
Assure compliance to company policies in all project aspects.
Serve as a Technical advisor, providing senior-level input, evaluation, and guidance on deliverables, services, and issues.
Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, computer science, business, or related field from an accredited curriculum. Graduate degree or MBA preferred.
Minimum 7 years of consulting, utility industry, or construction industry product experience with at least 2 years of engagement leadership experience.
Consulting experience preferred.
Proven ability to lead, educate, and train a team of consultants and analysts.
Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and presentation skills.
General business and financial knowledge.

Strong preference for experience leading technology-oriented projects.
