Burns & McDonnell Change Management Analyst - Management Consulting (Multiple Locations) in Wallingford, Connecticut
Change Management Analysts in 1898 & Co. work closely with energy- and utility-related clients to design and implement complex, transformation programs in a rapidly changing environment. Focus areas of our consultants include Business Transformation, Grid Modernization, and Risk, Security & Compliance (among others). Within these focus areas, the Change Management Analyst role focuses on assisting energy-related organizations (including utilities (power, gas, and water), independent power producers, energy end-users, regulators and other organizations) to develop and facilitate the successful implementation of business strategies, operating plans, business processes, organizational structures, and supporting infrastructure.
The Change Management Analyst may be responsible for:
Leading workstreams that enable the assessment, development, and enhancement of business strategies, operating plans, business processes, organizational structures, and supporting infrastructure for clients.
Applying knowledge of the energy and utility sector to support the design of client deliverables.
Applying technical competencies in areas such as Lean process improvement, project management and change management “on the ground” with clients.
Leading high-level client interviews and facilitating engagement with key project stakeholders to gather information and build support for projects.
Designing and building client deliverables, working closely with both 1898 & Co. and client peers.
Communicating solutions and new strategies to clients through reports and presentations.
Performing data collection & analysis and statistical & economic analyses in support of project objectives.
Providing detailed fact finding, research, and analysis in energy market trends and related areas to further support delivery.
Working with minimal oversight and helping to manage client relations.
Bachelor’s degree in learning and development, communications, organization development, social sciences or related field.
5-7 years consulting experience with utilities or related organizations preferred.
Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of business strategy, energy markets, business process management, and project management preferred
Knowledge of management consulting tools and techniques preferred
Certification in Lean, Lean Six Sigma, project management, change management, and related disciplines preferred.
Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and slide presentation software preferred.
Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
Change Management certification or designation. Prosci Certification preferred.
Involvement on campus or in the community.
Basic knowledge in standard change management techniques, principles and procedures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e. without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.
Achievement of one or more certification(s) in Lean, project management, change management, and related disciplines within the first 12 months is preferred
Ability to travel (up to 50%) and work overtime hours, as needed.
