Burns & McDonnell Senior Geospatial Consultant - 1898 & Co. (Atlanta) in Kansas City, Missouri
The Senior Geospatial Consultant will lead GIS analyses for consulting projects supporting utilities, government organizations, and manufacturing clients. This role will manage the geospatial analyses for consulting projects and new business opportunities. The Senior Geospatial Consultant will review and monitor project scoping, system architecture design, technical demonstrations, and proposal content.
Leads Geographic Information System (GIS) analysis and data development for client projects while supporting internal and external project teams.
Provides technical leadership for GIS system implementations and GIS system integrations.
Oversees technical specifications, project approaches, project cost estimates, and project schedules.
Creates and oversees the quality of deliverables prepared by team members to adhere to client and project requirements.
Identifies and leads GIS client opportunity pursuits. Coordinates necessary personnel and resources to deliver proposals to clients.
Collaborates with business line teams to ensure alignment of scope and schedule, appropriate staffing, financial monitoring, and quality assurance standards in line with contract specifications.
Trains, coaches, and mentors staff on client projects existing or new technical requirements.
Identifies and helps to resolve issues impacting technical project objectives.
Identifies and addresses client GIS system needs and requirements and implements improved business processes.
Builds and integrates GIS strategies that meet the client’s needs.
Applies industry knowledge and relevance when consulting on GIS sales pursuits, and proposal developments.
Lead and partner with other personnel to develop strategic solution offerings.
Proactively craft and propose solutions that clarify how GIS brings business value to address critical business challenges faced by clients
Leverages domain knowledge when working with cross-divisional teams.
Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.

Bachelor’s in GIS, Computer Science, Mathematics, Geography or related field from an accredited program is required.
Minimum of 14 years of experience.
Expert knowledge in consulting engagements resulting in business process and technology improvements.
Expert computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
Expert computer skills in Geospatial software and technologies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with leading large projects and delegating work tasks to team members. Ability to lead execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment.
Demonstrated critical thinking skills, and ability to work methodically and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building and collaboration.
