Job Information

Burns & McDonnell Microsoft 365 Administrator - Information Technology (Kansas City) in Kansas City, Missouri


  • Administer Microsoft 365 systems (Exchange, OneDrive, Teams Phone, SharePoint)

  • Oversee Microsoft 365 roadmap releases, ensuring that proper planning, tracking, and communication is in place for upcoming changes

  • Implement security best practices recommendations for M365 and Azure environments

  • Support hybrid Azure Active Directory (AAD) environment and AAD based Single Sign On (SSO)

  • Perform Azure DevOps administration and code deployments in partnership with Application and Data teams

  • Manage assigned projects and tasks, ensuring timely completion

  • Partner with other team members to understand system requirements and configurations

  • Maintain documentation of technology systems, processes, and components

  • Provide mentorship and support to other members of the team

  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required

  • Tier 2/3 support for Service Desk issues

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 3-5 years Microsoft 365 administration experience with Exchange, Teams, and SharePoint

  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Exchange Online administration (domains, policies, transport rules, etc.)

  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 monitoring service health, removal of user accounts, and management of service requests

  • Microsoft 365 Identity and Access Management, Azure Active Directory

  • Experience with system monitoring, issue investigation, performance monitoring, and tuning

  • Hands-on experience with PowerShell

  • Experience with ITIL Service Management processes (Incident, Change, and Problem)

  • Strong communication skills

  • Strong research skills


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology or related field. Applicable years of experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

  • Microsoft A certification a plus.

  • Basic knowledge of applying IT principles, methods, and tools to the IT systems environment.

  • Basic knowledge of applying IT system principles and methods to commercial systems products.

  • Basic knowledge of applying IT principles and methods to technical documentation methods; and performance management methods.

  • Basic knowledge of applying IT principles and methods to performance management methods.

  • Basic knowledge of applying risk factors associated with maintaining IT systems, such as computer viruses, hackers, and denials of service.

  • Basic knowledge of applying IT security regulations and policies.
